REID AND PELOSI'S HEALTH CARE DISGRACE--HISTORY'S MOST BLATANT LIE

November 1, 2009

Has any administration ever lied so blatantly, so disgustingly and/or with so much of an "in your face, your wishes do not matter" attitude, toward the American Public, as this bunch of radical, Marxist, power mad bunch?

The answer is obvious.

Richard Nixon and The Watergate Plumbers could lecture this bunch on "morality" and actually be justified.

The Health-Care Sham will in reality, add trillions to the debt and deficit, absolutely ruin the health care system in order to give more free goodies to the millions of welfare racketeers who already beat the system everyday, by sitting back and letting others persist every day, only to have the work of those who do it, turned over to the Obama largest constituency of welfare freeloaders.

Finally it's a massive takeover of government power and will have virtually every negative that this administration of liars denies every day, with virtually none of the benefits to those who pay for are promised.

Whatever the biggest lie in history was before this disgrace, this one dwarfs it at least 100 fold.

Dishonesty, Slander, and Idiocy

By Jonah Goldberg

Excerpts:

The Democratic party is panicking, lashing out like a cornered animal, all because its effort to take over the health-care industry is coming apart like so much wet toilet paper.

Nancy Pelosi, who will get her own bound volume in the annals of asininity, has outdone herself. When asked by a reporter whether the protests at various town-hall meetings represented legitimate grassroots opposition or were manufactured "AstroTurf" stunts, she replied, "I think they're AstroTurf. You be the judge. They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care."

Now this is a pas de trois of dishonesty, slander, and idiocy. Not only is Pelosi lying when she says protesters are bringing swastikas to these town halls, not only is she suggesting that American citizens are Nazis for having the effrontery to get in the way of Obamacare, but she's also saying that the alleged swastikas are obvious proof that these protests are manufactured by slick P.R. gurus.

O'S BROKEN PROMISES

By BETSY MCCAUGHEY

July 17, 2009 --

Excerpts:

PRESIDENT Obama promises that "if you like your health plan, you can keep it," even after he reforms our health-care system. That's untrue. The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests.

Two main bills are being rushed through Congress with the goal of combining them into a finished product by August. Under either, a new government bureaucracy will select health plans that it considers in your best interest, and you will have to enroll in one of these "qualified plans." If you now get your plan through work, your employer has a five-year "grace period" to switch you into a qualified plan. If you buy your own insurance, you'll have less time.

And as soon as anything changes in your contract -- such as a change in copays or deductibles, which many insurers change every year -- you'll have to move into a qualified plan instead (House bill, p. 16-17).

When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan, you'll be fined thousands of dollars -- as much as the average cost of a health plan for your family size -- and then automatically enrolled in a randomly selected plan (House bill, p. 167-168).

Obama's Top Five Health Care Lies

Shikha Dalmia, 07.01.09, 12:01 AM EDT

TonySopranoCare.

Excerpts:

President Barack Obama walked into the Oval Office with a veritable halo over his head. In the eyes of his backers, he could say or do no wrong because he had evidently descended directly from heaven to return celestial order to our fallen world. Oprah declared his tongue to be "dipped in the unvarnished truth." Newsweek editor Evan Thomas averred that Obama "stands above the country and above the world as a sort of a God."

But when it comes to health care reform, with every passing day, Obama seems less God and more demagogue, uttering not transcendental truths, but bald-faced lies. Here are the top five lies that His Awesomeness has told--the first two for no reason other than to get elected and the next three to sell socialized medicine to a wary nation.

Lie One: No one will be compelled to buy coverage.

During the campaign, Obama insisted that he would not resort to an individual mandate to achieve universal coverage. In fact, he repeatedly ripped Hillary Clinton's plan for proposing one. "To force people to buy coverage," he insisted, "you've got to have a very harsh penalty." What will this penalty be, he demanded? "Are you going to garnish their wages?" he asked Hillary in one debate.

Gerald Walpin speaks: The inside story of the AmeriCorps firing

Dispute that resulted in firing involved stimulus money

ALSO: See UPDATE below; Grassley protests, demands information, including any role of First Lady

NEW: House Republicans raise questions about Walpin firing

AND: Will Democrats cover up the AmeriCorps Mess?

AND: First Democrat questions Obama over AmeriCorps IG firing

The White House's decision to fire AmeriCorps inspector general Gerald Walpin came amid politically-charged tensions inside the Corporation for National and Community Service, the organization that runs AmeriCorps. Top executives at the Corporation, Walpin explained in an hour-long interview Saturday, were unhappy with his investigation into the misuse of AmeriCorps funds by Kevin Johnson, the former NBA star who is now mayor of Sacramento, California and a prominent supporter of President Obama. Walpin's investigation also sparked conflict with the acting U.S. attorney in Sacramento amid fears that the probe -- which could have resulted in Johnson being barred from ever winning another federal grant -- might stand in the way of the city receiving its part of billions of dollars in federal stimulus money. After weeks of standoff, Walpin, whose position as inspector general is supposed to be protected from influence by political appointees and the White House, was fired.

Walpin learned his fate Wednesday night. He was driving to an event in upstate New York when he received a call from Norman Eisen, the Special Counsel to the President for Ethics and Government Reform. "He said, 'Mr. Walpin, the president wants me to tell you that he really appreciates your service, but it's time to move on,'" Walpin recalls. "Eisen said, 'You can either resign, or I'll tell you that we'll have to terminate you.'"

At that moment, Walpin says, he had finished not only a report on the Sacramento probe but also an investigation into extensive misuse of AmeriCorps money by the City University of New York, which is AmeriCorps' biggest program. Walpin says he told Eisen that, given those two investigations, neither of which was well-received by top Corporation management, the timing of his firing seemed "very interesting." According to Walpin, Eisen said it was "pure coincidence." When Walpin asked for some time to consider what to do, Eisen gave him one hour. "Then he called back in 45 minutes and asked for my response," Walpin recalls.

On ‘Torture,’ Holder Undoes Holder

The attorney general reveals his legal ignorance — or, his willful inconsistency.

By Andrew C. McCarthy

Excerpts:

There was a little noticed bombshell in Washington’s waterboarding melodrama last week. And it wasn’t Nancy Pelosi’s implosion in a Capitol Hill press room, where she yet again tried to explain her inexplicable failure to protest the CIA’s “torturing” of detainees. No, this one detonated in the hearing room of the House Judiciary Committee. There, Attorney General Eric Holder inadvertently destroyed the warped basis for his claim that waterboarding, as administered by the CIA, amounted to torture.

As originally reported by Connie Hair of Human Events, Holder’s undoing was the result of deft questioning by two committee Republicans: Dan Lungren, California’s former state attorney general, and Louie Gohmert, the former chief judge of a Texas appeals court. The two congressmen highlighted a fatal flaw in Holder’s theory. Moreover, they demonstrated that — despite having accused the CIA and the Bush administration of war crimes by cavalierly branding waterboarding as “torture” — the attorney general has still not acquainted himself with the legal elements of a torture offense, particularly the required mental state. This is remarkable, given that Holder’s own department explained these elements less than a month ago in a federal appeals court brief.

Rep. Lungren pointed out that if the attorney general truly believes “waterboarding is torture,” he must also think we torture our own Navy SEALs and other special-operations personnel when we waterboard them as part of their training. “No . . . not in the legal sense,” countered Holder. You see, said he, it’s “a fundamentally different thing,” because

Dick Morris Says Pelosi Must Go

DickMorris.Com

Excerpts:

It's obvious that either Leon Panetta, Obama's head of the CIA, or Nancy Pelosi, his party's Speaker of the House, has to go. No administration can tolerate a permanent, public civil war between two such high-ranking officials.

Especially when their disagreement stems not from issues of policy but from matters of veracity and credibility, the battle must end in one of their resignations. You cannot have the head of the nation's first line of defense against terrorism calling the Speaker of the House a liar and being attacked by her in turn.

Obviously, Obama cannot fire Panetta. First of all, he just appointed him. And second, to cave in to Pelosi (D-Calif.) would earn him the massive disrespect and disapproval of the very operatives on whom he must depend to keep the nation safe.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

By Jim DeMint

Excerpts:

On April 25, Sen. Ted Kennedy formally kicked off the great health-care debate of 2009 with an op-ed titled “My Call to Arms” in his hometown Boston Globe. In the article, he made the now-familiar case for government-guaranteed health insurance for all. But in an otherwise benign sentence, Kennedy let slip a troubling suggestion about the Democrats’ plans for a government takeover of health care.

Kennedy says the best way to guarantee universal access to quality care is “by giving Americans the option of enrolling in a public health-insurance plan, where coverage is provided in the public interest” (emphasis added). There’s only one problem: Health care isn’t public; it’s personal and private. It can’t be provided in the public interest for the simple reason that no doctor has ever cared for “the public.” Doctors care for patients. And health care, under any recognizable definition, can be provided only in the patient’s interest. Any law that empowers government to provide individual coverage in the public interest implicitly empowers government to deny individual coverage for the same reason.

Listening to President Obama, it is clear what he thinks the “public interest” in health care is: getting costs under control. During his economic speech at Georgetown University last month, Obama warned of the costs of our health-care system no fewer than ten times. During his address to a joint session of Congress in February, he mentioned the system’s costs eight times.

In which Nancy Pelosi tortures the truth

Excerpts:

Nancy Pelosi has a tall tale regarding her purported ignorance of the enhanced interrogation techniques that President Obama and Pelosi's fellow Democrats condemn as "torture." Pelosi boldly denied she had been informed of the actual use of the techniques in the briefings she received as a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee. Huck Finn would have called Pelosi's tale a "stretcher." Here is Pelosi's classic "stretcher" of April 23:

"In that or any other briefing...we were not, and I repeat, were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation techniques were used. What they did tell us is that they had some legislative counsel...opinions that they could be used."

Pelosi's "stretcher" impelled former House Intelligence Committee chairman and CIA director Porter Goss to contradict her. Charles Krauthammer condemned Pelosi as "utterly contemptible." Now the intelligence community is having its own say. The Washington Post reports:

One new spot slams Sen. Obama for riling up a crowd with his "lipstick on a pig" jibe on Tuesday, just days after GOP running mate Gov. Sarah Palin brought the house down at the Republican convention in St. Paul with her line about lipstick being the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull.

Another ad hits the former community organizer for voting when a state senator for sex education for kindergarteners. A third commercial compares dozens of Democratic Party operatives sent to Alaska looking for dirt on Gov. Palin to ferocious wolves on the hunt in the Alaskan wilderness.

Obama has accused the McCain camp of "lies." But a careful look at the video of the full Obama lipstick statement to a rally in rural southwestern Virginia indicates that it was not innocent, but exactly what Sen. McCain is accusing it of being.

Excerpts:

Things are supposed to be looking rosy for Democrats this November. But in case Barack Obama loses the Presidency, an excuse is all ready to go: America's too racist to elect a black man. Not even, in his Vice Presidential pick Joe Biden's inimitable description, one so "articulate and bright and clean."

This narrative has gained traction with the Democratic Presidential candidate's recent setbacks in the polls. We hear it from the convention crowd in Denver and liberals in the press. The older, poorer, white, often Hillary voter who sounds ambivalent about the Obama coronation is an enticing scapegoat.

"Call me crazy, but isn't it possible, just possible, that Obama's lead is being inhibited by the fact that he is, you know, black?" wrote John Heilemann in New York magazine earlier this month. "What makes Obama's task of scoring white votes at Kerry-Gore levels so formidable is, to put it bluntly, racial prejudice."

Obama's Liberal Shiver

By Froma Harrop

Excerpts:

Watching liberals grope for first aid as Barack Obama does an about-face on their most cherished issues, one recalls a scene from the 1950 movie "All About Eve."

Theater critic Addison DeWitt takes great offense when a manipulative young actress tries to sneak her schemes past him. He snarls, "Is it possible, even conceivable, that you've confused me with that gang of backward children you play tricks on -- that you have the same contempt for me as you have for them?"

Obama has indeed shown contempt, or at least insensitivity, toward the thinking liberals who handed over their hearts based on his stances concerning -- among other things -- warrantless wiretapping, campaign finance reform and our continued presence in Iraq.

More From Dodd Than 'Trust Me'

Excerpts:

'I would never take 'trust me' for an answer, not even in the best of times. Not even from a president on Mount Rushmore." So declared Sen. Christopher J. Dodd last week on the floor of the U.S. Senate during a debate on government surveillance.

Dodd declared he will not trust our leaders unless he gets to see certain national security documents. Dodd insists, however, that we trust him when he says he didn't know he received special treatment when he borrowed nearly $800,000 from Countrywide Financial Corp. in 2003.

Dodd continues to refuse to release the standard documents (commitment letters, good-faith estimates of costs and fee summaries) that accompany every residential mortgage. They might confirm Dodd's contention that he received the same deal that anyone shopping the rates could have secured in the spring of 2003. Or maybe they won't. He said Tuesday he would release documents "at some point." More than two weeks after the public learned Dodd received "VIP treatment" from Countrywide, he doesn't think we're at that crucial point.

Pandering to women, Barack Obama twists truth on equal pay

By Carrie Lukas

Excerpts:

For a "new" kind of politics, Barack Obama's rhetoric sounds awfully familiar. The senator from Illinois may decry his critics as practicing "old politics," yet he freely employs one of the most shopworn political tactics when pandering to women.

At an event this week in New Mexico, Obama repeated the misleading claim that "women still earn only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men," and dismissed the notion that factors other than discrimination explain the wage gap as "just totally wrong."

Yet even the organizations that champion the most aggressive government action in the name of equal pay acknowledge that most of the wage gap is a result of men and women's different choices related to work, not employment discrimination. A 2007 report from The American Association of University Women, for instance, found that most of the wage gap could be explained by factors such as employment, education and personal choices. Pay differential wasn't just the result of sexism in the workplace.

Excerpts

Observers of the insane clown posse on MSNBC -- observers such as Ed Morrissey, for example -- noticed the classless comments made by Chris Matthews to Keith Olbermann on Olbermann's "Countdown" show in connection with the death of Tim Russert. "It may be tricky to say this, and I'll say it," Matthews said, introducing his weirdly derogatory remembrance of Russert.

Matthews said that Russert had believed the administration's assertion that Saddam was trying to get nuclear weapons and that Russert was "an everyman" for believing it. Matthews was giving Russert what was at best a backhanded compliment, essentially portraying the just-deceased Russert as a dupe. Watch the video for yourself here.

On Monday Olbermann promoted my friend Andrew Breitbart as the Worst Person in the World throughout "Countdown." Breitbart's photograph was displayed and Andrew was given reason to get excited. In the event, however, Olbermann conferred the honor collectively on FOX News because of an observation Andrew had made in a segment on "FOX and Friends" that morning. The "FOX and Friends" segment with Breitbart talking about Russert can be seen here.

A Conspiracy So Lunatic...Only 60 Minutes could fall for it.

Excerpts:

Jill Simpson is an unusual woman. A lawyer, she has scratched out an uncertain living in DeKalb County, Alabama. Fellow DeKalb County lawyers describe her as "a very strange person" who "lives in her own world." The daughter of rabid Democrats, she has rarely if ever been known to participate in politics as even a low-level volunteer. Yet today, she is a minor celebrity who is unvaryingly described in the press as a "Republican operative." Those who know her in DeKalb County scoff at the idea that she is a Republican at all.

Recently, Simpson's house and law office were on the auction block. Rumor has it that she is leaving DeKalb County for good and heading for the suburbs of Washington, D.C. Jill Simpson, who barely got by in Alabama, is now toasted by the national Democratic party and featured on network and cable news. All this because she has testified--without a shred of supporting evidence--to a conspiracy so vast as to be not just implausible, but ridiculous.

Simpson claims to have participated in a phone conversation with several Alabama Republicans in which she was made privy to a plot involving the Republican governor of Alabama, Bob Riley, a former justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, a federal judge, two United States attorneys, several assistant United States attorneys, the Air Force, and, apparently 12 jurors, to "railroad" former governor Don Siegelman into his 2006 conviction for bribery and mail fraud. Every person whose name Simpson has invoked has labeled her storya fantasy, including Siegelman; she claimed to have played a key role both in his giving up his unsuccessful contest of the 2002 gubernatorial election and in his defense of the criminal charges against him.

###

Lying was very dominant during the Clinton Administration.

Spin by Democratic talking heads was truly sickening.

Bill Clinton told blatant lies to the American public before even taking office.

Among those, was his affair with Gennifer Flowers, only to admit later, when faced with another perjury charge, that he had committed adultery with her. He later told another lie, saying he had been with her just one time.

Bill went on to prove that he was a blatant and irrefutable liar and perjurer, starting with lies to his wife and daughter, then to his cabinet and other close aides, then to the whole world, when he wagged that finger at us, while showing his anger in response to the Lewinsky matter.

The point of all this is when any of us call a person a liar, it should not be interpretive. It was not in any way interpretive to call Bill Clinton a liar.

He was faced with questions that if answered a certain way did not allow interpretation. To give one answer would have been the truth, to give the opposite would be a 100% lie, one that could never be called anything else. Bill chose on more than one occasion to tell irrefutable lies.

If not for the "stain" on Monica's dress, there is no doubt in my mind that Bill, like O.J., would still be doing what he has done for his entire life.

Did Al Franken, David Corn or others who have thrown the word liar around on a regular basis since 2001, discuss it during the eight years of non-stop deception and unbelievable spin that took place during the Clinton Presidency

Franken’s book has the childish title ”Lies and the Lying Liars Who tell Them” and Corn’s is titled “The Lies of George W. Bush”, subtle these titles aren’t .

Possibly, left wing fruit cakes found great merit in these books. Mature adults who like to think objectively, would not, in my opinion, commit precious time to such amateurish nonsense.

Bill Clinton was probably the biggest liar of all Presidents. George Bush is not a liar.

With some exceptions, Democrats have consistently lost elections. Their anger, hypocrisy and lying has probably had much to do with those losses.

Presently, they are reveling in the Mark Foley scandal. This may even increase their chances of capturing one or both bodies of congress.

If they do, chances are it won’t last.

The Democratic Party does not seem to want to let go of its hypocrisy or bad habit of lying.
