March 7, 2010Hotline On Call Massa To Resign March 5, 2010 3:25 PM By Reid Wilson and Tim Sahd Excerpts: Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) will resign Monday at 5pm, a source close to the embattled incumbent tells Hotline OnCall. Massa has been pressured by House Dems to step aside amid an ethics controversy that caused him to announce earlier this week he would not run for a second term. Earlier this week, the House ethics committee confirmed it was looking in to allegations against Massa. Those allegations reportedly include sexual harassment of a member of the Congressman's staff. Massa's decision to retire came as a surprise to both parties. While he said his decision was based on a recurrence of cancer, the ethics committee investigation made Dems push him out the door. Veronique de Rugy from the March 2010 issue Feb. 18, 2009 Excerpts: Congress says that the health care package it passed at the end of 2009 will cost roughly $900 billion over 10 years—and will somehow end up saving taxpayers money in the long run. If you think that sounds unlikely, you’re right. With the federal government, massive cost overruns are the rule, not the exception. The $700 billion cost of the war in Iraq dwarfs the $50 billion to $60 billion that Mitch Daniels, then director of the Office of Management and Budget, predicted at the outset. In 1967 long-run forecasts estimated that Medicare would cost about $12 billion by 1990. In reality, it cost more than $98 billion that year. Today it costs $500 billion. Nor is the problem limited to Washington. In 2002 the Journal of the American Planning Association published one of the most comprehensive studies of cost overruns, looking over the last 70 years at 258 government projects around the world with a combined value of $90 billion. The Danish economists Bent Flyvbjerg, Mette Skamris Holm, and Soren Buhl found that nine out of 10 public works projects had exceeded their initially estimated costs. The Sydney Opera House and the Concorde supersonic airplane were the most spectacular examples, with cost overruns of 1,400 percent and 1,100 percent, respectively. Budget busting occurred throughout the seven decades studied, with the totals spent routinely ranging from 50 to 100 percent more than the original estimate Full article Veronica de Rugy Reason.Com December 17, 2009Corruption--Rampant In Dept. December 13, 2009Senate To Pass $1.1 Trillion Corruption BillMY Way Dec 12, By ANDREW TAYLOR Excerpts: WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate is poised to clear away a Republican filibuster of a huge end-of-year spending bill rewarding most federal agencies with generous budget boosts. The $1.1 trillion measure combines much of the year's unfinished budget work - only a $626 billion Pentagon spending measure would remain - into a 1,000-plus-page catchall spending bill that would give Cabinet departments such as Education, Health and Human Services and State increases far exceeding inflation. After a 60-36 test vote on Friday in which Democrats and a handful of Republicans helped the measure clear another GOP obstacle, the bill was expected to win on Saturday the 60 Senate votes necessary to guarantee passage. A final vote is expected Sunday. OPEC was pulling off the greatest wealth transfer from rich to poor in history. Why not them? So in grand U.N. declarations and conferences, they began calling for a "New International Economic Order." The NIEO's essential demand was simple: to transfer fantastic chunks of wealth from the industrialized West to the Third World. On what grounds? In the name of equality -- wealth redistribution via global socialism -- with a dose of post-colonial reparations thrown in. The idea of essentially taxing hard-working citizens of the democracies in order to fill the treasuries of Third World kleptocracies went nowhere, thanks mainly to Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher (and the debt crisis of the early '80s). They put a stake through the enterprise. Full article Charles Krauthammer Real Clear Politics Liberals Fear, Detest Competition, Love Government Forced Outcomes ############Good Down To Publishers TITLE: Liberals Do Not Like To Compete-Instead, Fight For Government Forced Outcomes Most liberals do not compete well, in life. This is why they love and support the Nanny-State and ever expanding government. Forced outcomes are made possible by creating VICTIM GROUPS. Since Liberals resent America's system of REWARD BASED ON ACHIEVEMENT, they seek EXPROPRIATION of property and money, by GOVERNMENT, and in turn elect and reelect, politicians who reward them and their selected victims groups, by expropriating the daily labor, of others, to use for social engineering. Famed British playwright (Pygmalion/My Fair Lady) George Bernard Shaw, said it best: "Whenever you rob Peter To Pay Paul, you can always count on the support of Paul." VERY, VERY, FEW LIBERALS, TAKE AN OUNCE OF RISK TO CREATE THE NATION'S WEALTH This belief in government forced rewards, is especially true in the most competitive of life’s endeavors—WEALTH CREATION-which gives us our freedom and living standard, and which has made us the most fortunate civilization in history. Wealth Creation is based on risk for failure or reward--achievement or failure for corresponding results. GOVERNMENT TYRANNY AND A CORRUPT NANNY-STATE MEDIAWhat route do these glib individuals take to achieve these forced, redistribution outcomes? Who Controls The Microphone 1. JOURNALISTS-THE NANNY-STATE MEDIA A huge majority in the Mainstream Media are liberals. They are Registered Democrats in Large Numbers, They consistently vote, 80% or more for Democrats. They contribute to Democrat politicians, by a similar margin. EXAMPLE: MSNBC.com identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. That's a ratio of 8 to 1. In 1992, Bill Clinton received 92% of the vote of the Washington D.C. Press Corp, George H. W. Bush received 7%. This trend has existed for decades, with little if any, change. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19113485/ Ironically, the resumes of those who most criticize free market competition--especially professors, have virtually no actual real world experience in that area. Professors advocate non-stop, nanny-state spending, for every redistribution program, congress introduces. They rarely, if ever, risk anything worthwhile, for the whole of America. Life's experiences, learned mostly from books, is decidely narrow. 2. University and College Professors--Economic Illiterates The eggheads in our universities have no experience in wealth creation. Finding 1 Liberal in 500 who has any empirical experience, or who has ever risked a penny would likely be difficult. An academic who has taken a reasonable business risk, served in the military, played a serious role on a football team, and welcomes rewards only through his own achievement, would much more likely, be a conservative-real world, professor. So we have economic Illiterates dominating not only our ivy-league schools but all elitist institutions. They in turn, fill the heads of young inexperienced minds only several years, removed from adolescence, with nanny-state, special interest, victim-laden nonsense, learned from books. This nonsense justifies turning over major portions of the daily labor of those who create wealth and persist, year after year, to the perceived victims of this Liberal Tyranny. This tyranny has shown itself on campuses, that highlight courses and never ending preaching of tolerance, yet when these students get a chance to practice what they preach they instead throw pies at conservatives, practice other acts of tyranny against those trying to communicate the facts and figures that for centuries have supported the laws of economics. "Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains." — Winston Churchill To take step 1 to in becoming literate in economics, professors need to read and apply, the main idea in and title of Henry Hazlitt's widely read and highly respected book ECONOMICS IN ONE LESSON. 3. The Public-School-Monopoly Any believer in traditional American values, would likely be horrified by reading the platform of the National Education Association (NEA) The Public-School-Monopoly is and has been brainwashing young minds as scandalously and dangerously as recent dictatorships. Luckily the radical, Marxist beliefs of the NEA and the Left, are being fully exposed in the Obama administration. Much of the deceit of the Democrat Party has now been exposed. The support for that movement has plummeted as the reality of its goals have been discovered by clear thinking Americans. The Teachers' Unions have enslaved the Democrat Party, with tens of millions, every year, in dues money. The Democrat Party is beholding To Public Employees Unions. Each of those entities feed each other with hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars. While education spending has soared for 30 years, and results are woeful, the Democrat Party and Teachers' Unions act as one, in dismantling competition while advancing the nanny-state and failure. The Book Publishing Monopoly Is In Bed With The Public-School-MonopolyTeachers themselves tell Book Publishers what books they will buy. Publishers know they must publish POLITICALLY CORRECT, REVISIONIST, ANTI-FREE ENTERPRISE, books or teachers will go to competitors. Three large companies hold a virtual monopoly for this market. 4. Politicians This category is the most powerful and damaging of all. No congress, controlled by Democrats in the last 50 years has voted to hold down spending lower than any President, from their own party or the Republican Party. Republicans, under the Contract With America and Bill Clinton forced through a 7 year Balanced Budget Amendment, which instead of taking 7 years, took only 4 years to turn deficits into surpluses. This President and Democrat Congress are going wildly in the opposite direction, plunging us into unimaginable debt and expanding both the nanny-state and government power to unimaginable levels. Class warfare against competition and reward is inheritently damaging and evil, it could actually bring down this greatest of all nations. We must act quickly and decisevely against this tyranny. 853 The Mainstream Media, has evolved several steps from its original role of reporting, first to Nanny-State Activism, now to downright corruption. Practically every major initiative under the Obama administration has had gigantic ramifications for good or bad, yet the Nanny-State Media is doing everything in its power to advance the Obama agenda, even though the Congressional Budget Office among other agencies has issued report after report, forecasting the enormous damage that could possibly result from those initiatives, with some slightly positive aspects here and there, that do not come close to offsetting the overall harm to our economy, from which comes our national defense capability. This not only endangers us economically and otherwise, it definitely moves the absolutely vital role of a free and honest National Press into the area of high corruption in order to force its will on an entire population. The Mainstream Media once reported news in a reasonably balanced manner. Conservatives believe the Constitution should be adhered to strictly, even in cases that go against them. Not Liberals, they want outcomes (rewards) to go to their various victim group, even though the recipients have done nothing to earn those rewards. So filling out a federal form, e.g. a tax return or application for food stamps and listing a certain amount or limited amount of income and presto, the money that millions of workers, worked for at their jobs, goes over to the victim. Pat Cadell Dec. 14, Democratic pollster and adviser to President Carter President Obama and the White House "He doesn't know what world their living in." A typical slick phrase, used by liberals is "those without a voice" as if anyone in America cannot vote or join a group that represents his interest, no matter what it is. "Tax Cuts For The Rich" is the biggest liberal lie of the last 30 years, yet it has deceived millions of Americans and continues to do so, because those very liberals who don't like the competition of hard work, perseverance and personal responsibility, resent the rewards by those who achieve wealth. So its not just that they engage in the sleazy practice of class warfare, it then leads to a torrent of lies, misrepresentations and willful misunderstanding of what the actual data says about the benefits the large majority has always received from tax cuts. Historically this has been proven indisputably, by the Internal Revenue Service, Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and every reliable government source. always lying saying that wealthy people victimized some group to attain those riches. This is not to say Liberals are not SLICK, or that they are not CUNNING, or that they are not canny. They are all these things. Their use of buzzwords, phrases and anecdotes, unfortunately has many Americans believing in millions of victims in America. Add in the fact that the Liberal Nanny-State Media has been totally corrupted where In activities loved and respected, by millions of Americans, very few liberals roll up their sleeves to do the heavy lifting. Why? These activities all stem from competition. How do we know? The resumes of those who most criticize free market competition, and who advocate non-stop, nanny-state spending for every redistribution program, prove it. This is especially true in the most competitive of life’s endeavors—Wealth Creation, which gives us our freedom and living standard, and which has made us the most fortunate civilization in history. That good fortune should not be confused with luck, which has strongly, an element of chance. Our fortune, comes from the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, who for the first time in history, developed a plan, to control the inevitable tyranny of government power. That's when all the hard work and perseverance began and the accompanying rewards from those who will compete for those rewards. Until competition under the Industrial Revolution occurred, very few everyday citizens who were not landlords, merchants, royalty or inheritors of large amounts of capital had much opportunity, we Americans have had. Notice, these are all policy wonks, types with no experience in wealth creation, no military experience and no athletes in America's most competitive and roughest sports, football, hockey, boxing This leads also to corruption in our Judicial System. Liberal judges often decide cases, not on the guidelines of what the U.S. Constitution, says, rather these individuals bring victimology and nanny-state-activism into our courts. Conservatives know adhering to the Constitution will bring some losses.Liberals, including Barack Obama openly profess, their belief in interpreting what the Constitution means today, not what it did, when written. 13 HOUSE MEMBERS WITH GREAT SCORES (90 OR BETTER) WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS SCORED BY THE CLUB FOR GROWTH 1 Mike Pence (R) IN-06 100.0% 197 0 2 2 Jeb Hensarling (R) TX-05 93.94% 155 10 4 3 Marsha Blackburn (R) TN-07 93.75% 165 11 1 4 Doug Lamborn (R) CO-05 93.38% 127 9 2 5 Paul Broun (R) GA-10 93.33% 126 9 2 6 Scott Garrett (R) NJ-05 93.33% 126 9 1 7 Jim Jordan (R) OH-04 92.54% 124 10 1 8 Tom Price (R) GA-06 92.48% 123 10 0 9 Jeff Flake (R) AZ-06 91.41% 149 14 2 10 Trent Franks (R) AZ-02 91.41% 117 11 0 11 Virginia Foxx (R) NC-05 90.83% 109 11 0 12 Lynn Westmoreland (R) GA-03 90.76% 108 11 -1 13 Michele Bachmann (R) CAGWBroun 100 Pence 98 Flake 98 Shaddegh 98 Franks 98 Hensarling 98 Royce 98 Foxx 98 Lamborn 98 Tancredo 97 Sensebrenner 96 Campbell 95 Price T. 94 Linder 95 NTUFlake Arizona A 98% 1Paul Texas A 96% 2Broun Georgia A 93% 3Franks Arizona A 93% 4Hensarling Texas A 91% 5Lamborn Colorado A 90% 6Foxx North Carolina A 89% 7Jordan Ohio A 89% 8Royce California A 88% 9Pence Indiana A 88% 10Linder Georgia A 87% 11Duncan Tennessee A 87% 12Sensenbrenner Wis A 87% 13 Corruption To Editorials ### ### ### SAUL ALINSKY AND BARACK OBAMASaul Alinsky, Community Organizing and Rules for Radicals Saul Alinsky's work featured community organizing and community development.
